Hopes and Dreams

I have many hopes and dreams for our child. First and foremost, I hope that all goes well with the birth and mother and child come through it all happy and healthy. I hope that Jenean and I can provide financial stability, a loving home, nutritious food, clean air and water, and moments of joy and inspiration for LB. I hope that we can manage the parenting moments that confound and stress us, and keep a loving and patient heart and an empathetic and visionary mind to guide us forward. I hope that people in our community, our state, our nation, and our world can figure out how to work together toward rational and compassionate ways, for the evolution of our species and the preservation of our ecological web of being. I hope that LB grows up confident and secure in their inherent dignity and worth as a person, free to become who they are. I hope that LB knows beyond any doubt that they are so incredibly loved. I hope that we can live with grace through any of the challenges or losses that life will bring, and teach LB the importance of every single breath, every single choice, that we make with our days. I hope that we can teach and guide and encourage and empower our child so that one day they can spread their wings and soar to new heights that we cannot go. I hope that LB finds beauty in the world and feels its power. And lastly, I hope to make my parents proud, for them to see that all that they have poured into me is passed forward, and that love lives on eternal even when we cannot.
